Sustainable lighting innovator takes home Net Zero Achievement and Most Outstanding Business accolades
EGG Lighting, the Glasgow-based circular lighting specialist, has been recognised with two major awards at the Glasgow Business Awards, held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central on Thursday 2nd October.
The company secured both the Net Zero Achievement Award and the Most Outstanding Business Award, cementing its position as a leader in sustainable infrastructure and circular economy practices within the lighting sector.
The Net Zero Achievement Award recognises EGG Lighting’s work in making circular lighting a practical reality. Rather than simply discussing sustainability, the company has delivered tangible results through remanufacture, compliance, and measurable carbon reduction across its operations.
The Most Outstanding Business Award reflects the company’s growth whilst maintaining focus on technical excellence, commercial integrity, and ethical business practices.
“These awards recognise our commitment to real sustainability and responsible growth,” said Brian O’Reilly, Managing Director of EGG Lighting. “They’re a credit to the whole EGG Lighting team – from innovation to delivery.”
Powering the shift to circular services
EGG Lighting exists to power the shift from throwaway assets to circular services. The company envisions a world where infrastructure is no longer discarded but continuously improved, leading a transformation that replaces wasteful, one-time product cycles with smart, trackable, and service-driven models that extend life, reduce carbon, and create enduring value.
The company’s remanufacturing process has already repurposed over 4,000 lighting fixtures, helping organisations across its client base to significantly reduce their carbon footprint and demonstrating the commercial viability of circular economy principles in the lighting industry.
Recent parliamentary recognition
The Glasgow Business Awards success follows a period of significant recognition for EGG Lighting. In September 2025, the company won the Environmental Award at the Inspiring City Awards, which led to a formal commendation in the Scottish Parliament.
The parliamentary motion praised EGG Lighting’s “leadership in helping businesses reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions across Glasgow” and recognised “the dedication of staff and management in advancing energy efficiency, green technology and environmental education.”
In October 2025, following the Glasgow Business Awards win, EGG Lighting received a second Scottish Parliament commendation for the Most Outstanding Business award. This acknowledged the company’s “innovative approach to sustainable lighting solutions” and its “significant contribution to the city’s green economy,” noting that EGG Lighting’s commitment to the circular economy and net zero targets aligns with Glasgow’s environmental goals.
