New Christmas Lights display – Royal Tunbridge Wells

High-quality LED festive illuminations have been more in-demand than ever, according to Christmas lighting specialists Gala Lights.

The company recently unveiled their new lighting display for Royal Tunbridge Wells, featuring a mix of modern and classical decorations to reflect the differing retail and entertainment offerings of the town.

Chris Stille, Gala Lights Managing Director: “Christmas is always a special time, but we’ve really noticed that customers want to make a big impact and raise spirits through Christmas lights this year.  2020 has been hard for everyone, so it’s great to see smiles on faces as people discover one of our special 3D installations, such as ‘Frosty’ the snowman in Royal Tunbridge Wells.”

Gala Lights new lighting scheme for the town has three distinct ‘zones’: the first zone is a colourful display of lamp column motifs and across street decorations decorated with multi-coloured high-quality LEDs with colour-changing animation.

A 3.3m high snowman named ‘Frosty’, is the eye-catching 3D centrepiece of zone two. The multi-colour motifs continue from zone one, with the addition of trees dressed with high-quality colour-changing boas. Gala Lights skilfully designed this display to seamlessly transition between multi-coloured to a classical white and warm white colour palette, through the dressing of trees with boa product in zone 2.

The third zone features a classical white and warm white display of impressive across street decorations with glitter animation. Gala Lights was able to achieve increased coverage across the wide High Street area through the use of string lights product.

Ross Feeney, CEO Royal Tunbridge Wells Together: “2020 has been an immensely challenging year for both our BID members and the general public. We wanted to inject some joy and hope into the town throughout the festive period and were looking for our Christmas lights to encapsulate this.

The proposal from Gala Lights for Royal Tunbridge Wells offered the complete package of elegance and sparkle, drawing on and enhancing the natural beauty of the town. So far the feedback has been extremely positive, with both BID members and the public enthused about how fantastic it is to see the town looking so decorative and uplifting.”

As with most displays this year national lockdown restrictions prevented any official switch-on ceremony, so Gala Lights conducted a soft switch-on immediately after installation.
