Recolight have announced new Circular Economy webinars for the Autumn. All webinars will be chaired by Ray Molony who said: There is definitely a shift in attitudes happening in the lighting industry, and we’re starting to look seriously at the implications of adopting circular economy principles.  Companies that ignore this shift risk looking out of touch.”

  • The specifier’s role in the Circular Economy – 16 September
Specifiers are becoming pivotal in driving the uptake of circular economy principles for new lighting projects. In this webinar we bring together a panel to debate how specifiers and end users can maximise the use of product circularity in new projects.
  • Extending the life of luminaires – 7 October
The need to no longer see luminaires as a single life product has been widely discussed in the Recolight Webinar series. Progress is being made, and we hear of initiatives undertaken to facilitate remanufacture and reuse.
  • Designing sustainable luminaires – 28 October
Explores how luminaire producers can adapt their designs to encourage products to be reused or upgraded at the end of first life, or at least to be more efficiently recycled.

A range of Lighting Producers, specifiers, and designers will share their insight and positive initiatives being undertaken to reduce the impact on the environment. We will also hear from Defra on how they may encourage and incentivise product reuse.

Previous webinars this year discussed:

  • Luminaire design: The Circular Economy regulations you need to know
  • Return of the lamp: How the replaceable revolution will change lighting
  • How to go net zero: A lighting manufacturer’s guide to becoming carbon neutral

Recolight CEO Nigel Harvey said, “The Recolight webinars have bought together the lighting industry helping all to adopt a Circular Economy approach. Much progress has been made since we started, not just with action undertaken by the industry, but also legislation. The generosity of our panellists to share their knowledge and experience is invaluable with helping to move the industry towards a sustainable model.  It has been genuinely heartening to see the continuing high level of interest and attendance our webinars have attracted.”

All are free to join, head to the Recolight Events page for more information and to register.
