PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING IS CELEBRATING ITS 40th ANNIVERSARY

2018 represents a significant step for the group, based in Colognola ai Colli – VR, consisting of awards and partnerships, new products and wide-ranging initiatives.

The first half of 2018 marked important milestones for the PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING Group, an international player in the lighting industry, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of its business.

Aiming with foresight to the potential offered by constantly evolving technologies, investing in design and research, in 2017 the Group achieved consolidated sales of 115,000,000 Euro and an Ebitda of 6.5%.

Also for 2018, among the most important areas of the Group’s philosophy is social commitment, carried out with perseverance and conviction.

The group is among the companies included this year among the excellences of the Welfare Index PMI 2018. Here PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING received a special mention in the category “Work-Life Balance” for the industrial sector. Among the reasons for the recognition are the wide flexibility of working hours, counselling programs for maternity provided to employees, various “time saving” initiatives and the project that in 2002 led to the creation of Nidoblù at the Colognola ai Colli headquarters, a kindergarten open not only to the children of the company’s personnel, but also to the children of mothers working in nearby companies with the objective of supporting working women.

The Company has long supported the Child In Need Institute (CINI) Italy, a Not-For-Profit Organisation. CINI is a non-profit organization established to ensure children in the neediest areas of the world the right to receive care and education in early childhood, for instance, by helping families.

In this context is the recent commitment of PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING to a project with strong cultural and social value: the new Casa Emergency in Milan, of which the company is the Main Partner.

The new exciting social project in which the company will take part is MISSION GENESIS which, 70 years after the Declaration of Human Rights, aims to launch into orbit by 20 July 2019 a satellite that will contain a message of interfaith peace to send to the Earth. The mission, in addition to its strong symbolic value, will allow schools in disadvantaged areas of the planet to receive free computers powered by solar panels in order to connect to the satellite and the entire world.

Particularly sensitive to the issue of the protection of environmental resources, the PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING Group has a great commitment to the optimization of production processes, procurement of raw materials and in the selection of recyclable materials for production, logistics and marketing. From the early stages of planning, dedicated teams take care of the future by studying the best systems to allow the disposal of products at the end of their life and the reuse of materials up to 98% once the plant has been discontinued.

Since 2004 PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING has been a founding member of the Consortium ECOLIGHT – n. 0029 (for the recycling of lighting devices, RAEE).

The attention and the concrete commitment to a sustainable production model starts from one’s own reality. Since 2013 PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING has independently produced more than 50% of its own energy requirements cleanly through its photovoltaic systems installed in its premises.

Early this year activities were consolidated in various areas. First of all, the presence at major industry events such as LIGHT+BUILDING at the Frankfurt trade fair last March. It was on this occasion that, as an absolute novelty for 2018, PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING displayed the exclusive collection of fixtures for interior lighting created in collaboration with designer Walter de Silva.

PERFORMANCE iN LIGHTING has participated in events in major European cities in collaboration with ARCHITECT @ WORK, a platform of relationships and connections where interior designers and architects have the chance of meeting with prominent companies carefully selected for the quality of their materials, their functional and technological innovation, and the design of their proposed solutions. To the participation in ARCHITECT@WORK – UK at the Olympia National Hall in London in January and ARCHITECT@WORK – SPAIN at the CCIB in Barcelona in February, events will be added in Rotterdam, Paris, Berlin and Milan scheduled for the fall.

Great satisfaction for the Group as LIGHT-PERFORMER®, custom lighting systems configurator, has been recognized with the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2018 in the section Communication, Apps/Software category.
