• Renowned, design-led lighting specialist, Innermost, will host a pop-up lighting and furniture showroom that will coincide with Clerkenwell Design Week 2022
  • Founded by Steve Jones and Russell Cameron, Innermost has worked with designers all over the world since 1999
  • In addition to Innermost’s own products, the pop-up showroom will also feature designs from European brand partners including UMAGEPilke and Shropshire Shades
  • The UK launch of Wehlers – an innovative B Corp from Denmark that uses ocean plastics as a material source for its fully recycled chairs

Innovative British lighting designer, Innermost, has announced it will have an exclusive pop-up showroom in London this May from Tuesday 24th to Friday 27th May 2022.

Thanks to Innermost Plus – the designer’s expansion into UK distribution for European brands – the store will also showcase leading lighting and furniture designs from UMAGEPilkeShropshire Shades and Wehlers.

The temporary showroom will provide architects and interior designers with a unique opportunity to see, touch and experience an extensive range of InnermostPilke and Shropshire Shades lighting and UMAGE, and Wehlers furniture products, and to meet some of the team behind the designs.

The showroom will take over The Residency, a concept store space in the luxury Islington Square, Central London, (116 Upper Street, London, N1 1AB).

As well as Innermost’s own-brand lighting, including ranges with bespoke and custom design opportunities, new additions to the Shropshire Shades silk ‘Fibre’ range will be on display, alongside one of the first looks at a new shade from the brand made from 100% recycled and recyclable materials. These will be accompanied by a range of Pilke birch wood designs from Finnish designer, Tuukka Halonen.

Innermost co-founder Steve Jones commented: “We will have a focus on sustainability, with some of our designers sharing insights into the recycled materials and new techniques they are using to create sustainable products, whilst also meeting all the necessary regulations for UK architecture and design. For example, the team at Shropshire Shades have removed the plastics from the shade liner to be replaced with recycled paper-based board and then use recycled fabrics that are totally recyclable too, using a water-soluble, biodegradable glue.”

Furniture from Danish brand UMAGE will also be available in a range of new recycled materials, along with fellow Danes, Wehlers, who will share an insight into their journey to becoming a B Corp brand.

Steve Jones said: “2022 is an exciting year for Innermost and our Innermost Plus brands so it’s the perfect time to get into a showroom setting. It’s great to see the return of Clerkenwell Design Week too, which brings the best of London design together.

“When it comes to sourcing the best interior products, it’s always better when you can see and feel everything, from the materials used to the chosen colours, and we’re looking forward to being able to meet buyers and specifiers in-person where we can talk them through our designs and find the best solutions for them and their projects.”

The Innermost showroom in Islington Square is 1.4 miles from the heart of Clerkenwell Design Week (EC1 area), just eight minutes’ drive and is easily reached on public transport – less than a 10-minute walk from both Angel tube station and Highbury and Islington tube station.
