Imoon and Warners Budgens: it’s all about quality

Warners Budgens, a local independent supermarket based in the heart of vibrant communities across Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire, is characterised by quality and value of food. Guy Warner, the owner of stores trading under the Budgens banner, chose Imoon,  a specialist in commercial lighting for Food & Fashion Retail, to design a new lighting concept for his refit at Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, England. The Design focused on the use of accent lighting to enhance products in key selling areas of the store, such as Fresh Food as well as Fine Wines and Beers. The advantage of this concept is the use of the latest LED technology which is extremely efficient whilst being virtually maintenance free. Indeed, state-of-the-art LEDs, as well as being 100% environmentally friendly, all contribute to increase energy efficiency.

In this respect, Imoon’s consultations include an energy assessment of lighting systems with the help of IGREEN software, which can estimate the total energy consumption of its lighting projects as well as the related payback period, calculated based on the Total Cost of Ownership.

Guy goes on to say “We pride ourselves on the quality of our offerings and as such the brief I gave to Imoon was to improve the look and feel within the store and at the same time reduce energy consumption. They certainly delivered on both counts as they have done in our other stores: the Fresh Foods are presented at their optimum and the whole shopping experience is improved with focussed LED lighting on the face of the shelving rather than just the floor”.

Imoon UKs owner Ron Coleman added “I was particularly pleased to be able to provide Guy Warner with the solution for Moreton in Marsh amongst others as it is a store I have always admired since its inception. We have built a strong relationship with the Warner Group and it is one that we cherish, they are a pleasure to work with”

Imoon creates unique products with various functions for each of its projects: they can be customised in terms of light beam, power and colour temperature, ensuring excellent performance aesthetics and reliability, always produced in a sustainable way. Both standard and special state-of-the-art LEDs are used in the manufacture of the luminaires based on the type of products on display: MEAT PLUS, MEAT RED and MEAT FISH High Definition are the options to emphasise either the red colour or the contrasts of reds and whites, to create a perception of freshness in the butcher and fishmonger areas respectively. LED Extra Warm High Definition and EXTRA WARM PLUS enhance the naturalness and vibrancy of the colours within the bakery and patisserie with their warm hues and, finally, LED FULL COLOUR offers great chromatic results for all types of products and is ideal whenever there is the need for a single light source to cover multiple areas.

Various models of projectors, suspensions, linear systems, surface mounted and recessed fixtures can be supplied with various accessories and filters, modulating the distribution of light to reduce the glaring effect and improve visual comfort.

Further options such as colour co-ordinating the fixtures to match or contrast with the ceiling can reduce the perception of the lighting fixture, creating harmonious aesthetics to achieve a coordinated image and effect.
