Time to Shine: A Preview of The Light Show at Autumn Fair 2016
The Light Show will return to Autumn Fair this September to kick-start prime time buying season with four days of inspiring seminars, insight and fantastic buying opportunities. Endorsed and supported by the LIA, the sector will offer high-calibre retailers, designers and contractors a fresh, innovative and creative destination to source new product.
Visitors can expect to see the latest in illumination across Hall 2 of the NEC Birmingham from established and emerging brands including QisDesign, Fantastic Lighting, Divine Lighting, nordlux, Light & Living, Dar Lighting, Pacific Lighting, Impex, Illuminati, Fantastic Lighting, Febland, First Light, Gap Lighting and Mandarin Arts.

As a highly transactional lighting trade event, The Light Show at Autumn Fair is the perfect platform for new and established brands alike to do business. Home grown talent, Pipe Art, will be using the show as a launch pad into the industry for the very first time. Owner, Dean Snell, said: “This is our big opportunity to make our mark in the industry. With a focus on cutting-edge, trend-led design across the sector, guided by WGSN Lifestyle & Interiors, visitors can be assured that their purchases will shine in stores next season. Commenting on key trends for buyers to look out for at the Light Show this year, Laurence Pasquier, Editor at WGSN Lifestyle & Interiors said: “The ‘Elemental’ trend for AW16/17 centres around a growing desire for calm and sensitivity. Multiple layers, cloudy softness and tactile surfaces covering interiors in a pallet of pale, blanched pastels, combined with moody and tinted greys. Other key aesthetics to look out for at The Light Show this year: round and cocooning shapes, combinations of hard and soft forms, fluffy, mirrored and misty finishes.”
Visitors will also have the opportunity to see an array of new launches across the lighting sector include VITA copenhagen’s recently revealed ‘Eos large and x-large light grey’ in-sync with WGSN’s Elemental trend predictions. An inspiring stand will form part of VITA Copenhagen ‘Total Experience’ at Autumn Fair, which will also incorporate interactive and submersive lighting experiences as well as sponsorship of the VIP Seasons Lounge. The ‘Total Experience’ will provide buyers with a diverse understanding of applications as they simultaneously traverse other suppliers throughout the section.
