Precision Lighting website’s product selector saves designers time

December 2, 2011 – Precision Lighting has created a product selector for its recently revamped website to make it easier to choose and specify fittings and accessories using a PC, iPad or iPhone.  Visitors to can now download details of the exact products they need in no more than three clicks from the site’s home page, including PDFs with images, technical drawings, specifications and instructions.

Easier to find fittings

‘The new site gives lighting designers and contractors everything they need in one go,’ says Precision Lighting designer Peter McClelland, the website’s creator. ‘The product selector saves the multiple visits and downloads that users go through on other websites and it is very easy to use. I have looked around and there is nothing quite like it in the lighting field.’

Precision Lighting designs and manufactures high-specification LED, HID and halogen spotlights for surface-mounted and recessed track and Monopoint systems. The creation of the product selector coincides with the release of new products from Precision Lighting including LED versions of the EVO range of spotlights, the Pico LED mini-spotlight, the Radar ML spotlight and Radar ML for metal halide.

Downloadable resource pack

Lighting designers will find that choosing and specifying a fitting with the product selector is simple. Based on a visual representation of the possible combinations of finish, system and optics, the product selector will generate the product code and a downloadable resource pack containing photographs, technical drawings and technical details in a neat ZIP file.

‘The user interface was very important in the design of the site,’ says Precision Lighting design director Andrew Molyneux. ‘As the range of products in the Precision toolkit continues to expand we felt it was more important than ever to make the selection process fast and efficient for our clients.’
