PR Lighting and Focon raise the bar in Frankfurt

PR Lighting raised the bar considerably at this year’s Prolight+Sound Show where their display of new and innovative discharge and LED fixtures dominated the stand of their German distributors, Focon Showtechnic.

This year’s exhibition was the first time that PR Lighting and Focon had combined their booth — and it paid handsome dividends. “This was immediately a huge success because customers recognised the close partnership that exists between the two companies,” said Focon’s Michael Timmer.

The display was headed by the new fully-featured flagship PR-5000 range (comprising Spot, Wash and Beam), with 1500W discharge lamps. These provided a real technological leap for the Chinese company and counterbalanced LED products like the XPar 390M and new XLED336, ARC LED 3216M and LED 200W Theatre — the last three being shown for the first time.

These lined up alongside other recently released LED Spot moving heads (LED Spot 400, LED Beam 400, LED Spot 200 and LED Beam 200) in a real tour de force.

Of the new LED fixtures making their debut, the XLED 336 is a 36-lamp fast moving, compact and economically priced head with 18.15° dispersion angle. With a power consumption of just 140W it outputs close to 250W. The ARC LED3216M is a newly automated and extremely flexible double headed RGBWA fixture, containing 216 x high quality 3W LED’s, having inherited the excellent colour and brightness output of the PR-8802. The LED 200W Theatre features a 200W LED light source, Colour Temperature of 3,000K, a beam angle of 30-87° and 0-100% linearly adjustable dimmer — making it ideal for theatre use.

Said PR Lighting International Sales Director, Ernie Armas: “We also had a lot of interest in the XS1200 Beam, Wash and Spot, which offer great value for the low-end, while the PR-5000 Spot’s framing profile, offering 10°-68° linearly adjustable zoom, also created interest. The movement is fast and it offers a good beam.

“The PR-5000 Series was our first major step into ‘real’ professional level products and is truly a light for the company to be proud of.”

Focon’s Michael Timmer agrees. “We experienced a huge interest the flagship PR-5000 series, as well as the new XLED 336, while the new Fresnel LED fixture [LED 200W Theatre] earned much attention from designers and specifiers.”

In conclusion he said, “This was the most successful exhibition we have ever had since we started distributing PR Lighting and we are very optimistic for future development of their state of the art products.”
