New MIMO3 constant light sensor from Helvar

Helvar has announced the launch of MIMO3, a constant light sensor for simple, automatic control of all lamps, including high output and efficiency T5 luminaires. Designed to achieve maximum energy savings, MIMO3 is ideally suited for all commercial lighting applications and offers easy installation, fingertip adjustment (200-600 lux) and a slim profile that fits direct to the lamp.

The new MIMO3 sensor will control up to 15 Helvar 1-10V electronic ballasts and drivers and when mounted, it hangs just 18mm below the lamp. The clip versions can also be retrofitted to existing T5 or T8 luminaires, connecting directly through an integrated cable to the control input of Helvar’s 1-10 V controllable ballasts.

“Organisations are under continued pressure to make savings wherever they can and in shared spaces, like offices and schools, a great deal of energy is often wasted through inefficient lighting schemes,” says Kevin Purcell, Helvar’s UK Sales Manager for Components “Our new MIMO3 sensor is a tailor-made solution that can transform a wasteful scheme into an efficient lighting installation that will maximise energy savings.”

Installation is extremely easy with the sensor being positioned between the artificial and natural light sources. Once installed the MIMO3 will monitor both the natural and artificial light and adjust the artificial source accordingly. This maintains a constant overall lighting level which reduces energy consumption and creates comfortable lighting scenes, reducing unwanted glare and an excess of light which can cause eye strain.
