Lightscene offers a day of ‘connected opportunity’ with Smart Cities and the Internet of Things.
The Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP) continues to offer a stimulating program of education and professional development with its annual Lightscene event, hosted by the North East region on 21st April at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.
The aim of Lightscene is to offer excellent educational opportunities as well as a cost effective forum for lighting companies to showcase their products and services in front of a host of key lighting professionals. This year the event focuses around the theme of Smart Cities and the Internet of Things with a line up of free CPD seminars on the subject. Speakers include John Fox of Lucy Zodion who will talk about the meaning of Smart Cities and discuss enabling technologies and possible applications. Mark Cooper of I Guzzini addresses the opportunities that Smart Cities offer us for the future not just related to street lighting but also connected services. Stuart Wilson of Urban Control looks at the current methods of asset control available on a city level and discusses the options being opened up by the smart city revolution.
