LIF news

* LIF has organised a course to help understand the implications of the Building Regulations Part L 2010 that come into effect next month.  The latest edition and the accompanying Approved Documents will contain significant changes as far as lighting is concerned. All four Approved Documents that cover domestic and non-domestic buildings will be examined. The course will be held at The Premier Inn at South Mimms in Hertfordshire on 16 September. If you would like to attend pease contact John Hugill at LIF on 020 7793 3020.

* The deadline for entries for the EMILAS (LIF energy efficiency Award Scheme for refurbishment projects) has been extended to the 30th September. A further Award for ‘Excellence in Recycling’ has been added, sponsored by the Industry experts Recolight and Lumicom. A major aim of the awards is raising awareness of the benefits of investing in upgraded lighting to reduce running costs, resulting in good bottom-line savings for owners and users, as well as improving the quality of light used. The awards are open to all those involved in the lighting industry and associated supply chain, including manufacturers, lighting designers, architects and installation contractors. The Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) is supporting the LIF awards. Entry forms can be found on the LIF homepage:
