iGuzzini sponsors VELONOTTE™ LONDON

On the night of 23rd June, iGuzzini UK will sponsor VELONOTTE, an unprecedented architectural event in London that has garnered critical acclaim in major cities across the globe. Velonotte, the brain child of Dr. Sergey Nikitin allows participants to experience London’s iconic architecture in a manner previously unseen: on bicycles and in the dead of night.

Through space and architecture, participants will have the opportunity to travel down into history and back up to the present as they take in the sights of London’s ever changing East End. The route will include a variety of stops, each highlighting a significant piece of architecture or cultural event – from Hawksmoor’s Christ Church to Canary Wharf, from Robin Hood gardens to Walthamstow’s 15th century heritage and the recently completed Olympic Park.

Throughout the tour, cyclists will be accompanied by accomplished architects and historians like David Adjaye, Peter Ackroyd, Peter Murray, Richard Rogers and Ricky Burdett, who will act as tour guides via our Radio partner, Resonance FM.  A picnic will round up the event at dawn on the 24th of June, all in typical English fashion, with a string orchestra from the Trinity Laban College.

London will be transferred into an open-air museum, promising an unforgettable experience. All you need to participate in this celebration of architecture and London’s East End is a registration of your participation at http://velonotte.org Please make sure you have access to an FM radio or a smart phone so that you can follow the commentary throughout the ride.
