Hamilton mourns the passing of John Purnell

It’s with immense sadness that Hamilton Litestat confirms the death of treasured colleague John Purnell following a hard-fought battle with cancer.

An invaluable member of the Hamilton team, John joined the company in 1987 after spending his early career at Phillips and MK Electric. He was pivotal to Hamilton’s growth and success during his 28 years with the company, particularly in the export field. It became John’s specialism and led to his role as Group Product Development & Sales Export Executive. His encyclopedic knowledge of product and the industry, together with his phenomenal networking talents, made him vital to Hamilton’s achievements.

“John was an exceptional member of the team that contributed boundless knowledge and enthusiasm for the industry and his role,” says Ian Hamilton, Hamilton’s Managing Director. “Although his work was important to him, it’s his humour and generosity of spirit that he will be remembered for. He was universally liked, admired and respected, and was overwhelmed by the kind thoughts and words he received from far and wide during his illness. Our thoughts are with his family at this immeasurably sad time, and we thank John for all the fond memories he has left with us.”
