#HAGERGANG WINS AT ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY AWARDS
The popular online community for electricians known as the #HagerGang was recognised for its engagement and strong following as the Marketing Initiative of the Year at the Electrical Industry Awards 2015 last week.
Originally launched in 2014, the campaign has gone from strength to strength in recent months.
This year alone the, #HagerGang campaign has reached more than 2.5 million Twitter users and has been retweeted approximately 1,000 times. As a result the total follower base has doubled in just six months.
Hager UK has built a online community that offers support to electricians and installers. This platform allows users to ask questions and start discussions which provide real-time answers. Being part of the #HagerGang opens up opportunities for the members to enter exclusive competitions, discuss product development, share concerns and join in with a whole team of #HagerGang members nationally.
Alan Hodgkinson is an electrican and #HagerGang member who helped form the Twitter group. He commented: “We were chuffed to see the Tweets coming in saying that #HagerGang had won! Social media is used for businesses in all sectors these days, but Hager has done something really innovative for the electrical industry. They have built a community that wasn’t there before and enables end users, like me, to be heard by a manufacturer.”
