Company launches landscaping and roof terrace division

“Lighting and Landscape” is a new, central London based company, launched by award winning lighting designer Susan Quirke, in response to a gap in the market.

The new company takes its many years of interior design skills, to translate its work into the outdoor, urban arena.  The concept first emerged from Susan Quirke’s own client base, who were unable to find anyone with the expertise to make the transition from interior design to an outdoor setting.

Quotes Susan Quirke: “We work closely with the client to create a space that is complimentary to their needs, whether for a family or as a social space. We are equally at home working on large garden areas, creating different “zones” for different areas, or in the more confined city centre external spaces, such as roof terraces.

We understand that outdoor spaces can be used in the evening as much as in the daytime, and this is where our expertise in lighting design comes into play. I believe we are the only company which can take a project from concept design, work through a full specification of work, including site and project management.”

“Lighting and Landscape” recently created a lit space on an Islington roof terrace. Regards to the lighting of the space, the clients wanted it to be a real night social space, and feature around the seating, which we bespoke designed and inset with led blue rope light as well as the raised area to create a soft glow

To light the beautiful water feature, jewel like colour LED’s were set around in a variety of colours. The inset slate lighting and decking lights were set into path ways to guide you through the space in a variety of colours from blue/turquoise and white and red.

The bespoke planters were inset LED fittings to shine across the decking at low level. Sculptural planting was highlighted with strong colour fittings in red and orange. All the fittings have been put on seperare circuits to create variety and allow the client flexability to suit their mood. All lighting for the project was provided by Vivace
