Christmas in Cornwall thanks to Crescent and Paviom

Crescent has helped staff at The National Trust garden at Trelissick to design a lighting scheme for over five acres of the garden as well as the iconic Water Tower. Crescent supplied Tersus HID flood and Elencho HID spot lights from exterior lighting company Paviom and made extensive use of its own LED spot and linear lighting products throughout the project.

The modern National Trust garden at Trelissick, overlooks the Fal estuary, near Truro, in Cornwall. It was created within shelter belts planted 200 years ago and the Water Tower was built for irrigation purposes as well as fire-control.

For 10 days before Christmas these areas within the National Trust garden were open until 19.00pm to give visitors a new night-time experience. Many of the trees and shrubs around the Loop Walk were illuminated. Some are simply flooded with Metal Halide projectors from Paviom and others are treated to LED spot lights with a mixture of white light and RGB colour change from Crescent to provide drama and interest.

The Water Tower was floodlit to create a striking first impression, as the Water Tower is a Christmas treat itself having been gift-wrapped with a bow for the festive season.

In addition, at the entrance to the garden the interactive art sculpture ‘Doodle’ by Leolightdesign was illuminated using Crescent side glow fibre optic cable which provided an intriguing welcome.

NT Gardens Manager John Lanyon commented: ‘We are really pleased with the combination of floodlighting and colour changing effects that bring the gardens to life at night, and the high quality of the products used.’
